Jarrod F. Reich was a contributing writer for the First Amendment Center Online while he was a doctor of jurisprudence candidate at Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, Tenn. He was a member of the Vanderbilt Law Review, Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity, the recipient of two Vanderbilt Scholastic Excellence Awards and is active with the Vanderbilt University Law School chapter of Amnesty International, the Legal Aid Society and the Jewish Law Students Association.

Reich received his bachelor of arts magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass., in 2001. He graduated as a Phi Beta Kappa scholar and was the recipient of the Justice Louis Dembitz Brandeis scholarship. While at Brandeis, he was founder and editor of Louis magazine, the university’s premier journal of intellectual discourse, and has had articles published on such legal issues as the subsidization of speech on college campuses and free expression vs. copyright protection in light of the Napster decision.

Beyond the classroom, Reich has served as a law clerk at Blackburn & McCune, P.L.L.C. in Nashville, the Davidson County Public Defender’s Office in Nashville, and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in Boston. He interned for Bill Bradley’s 2000 presidential campaign and for Rep. Benjamin A. Gilman, R-N.Y. Reich studied First Amendment jurisprudence with noted scholars Peter Woll, Richard Gaskins and Jeffrey Abramson.
